The Town of Alameda celebrates the importance of José María El Tempranillo with the reconstruction of the historical events during a festival which has been named a Unique Festivity of Tourist Interest in the province by the County Council of Málaga.

The Association of Cultural Reconstruction of the Life and Death of José María El Tempranillo and the Town Council of Alameda with the Foundation for the 'Towns on the Land of José María El Temrapanillo' organize yearly events in commemoration of the deathof famous Andalusian bandit from the 19th century José María Hinojosa Cobacho El Tempranillo (22nd September 1833). He was named El Tempranillo in the texts written about him by some European and North American travellers, who called him Andalusian Robin Hood because he defended the lower unprotected social classes from that time.

The Town of Alameda started to celebrate this festivity, which has folkloric, literature, craft and food related four years ago. The town opens its doors to visitors in the José María El Tempranillo mausoleum in a patio, the Roman Baths Theme Centre and the Museum of Andalusian Countryside, where you can sea a model of a house where El Tempranillo died, as well as some giant-headed figures of bandits, soldiers and the Douches of Benamejí, a young noblewoman from the play written by Antonio and Manuel Machado. These were given by the town of Benamejí in the County Council of Córdoba, and the Women Association La Yedra.
