The remains of Don Jose de Galvez and his wife and other family members are in the mausoleum. There are also several statues anonymous of family members.

The Galvez family is a very important part of the history of Macharaviaya as they were sponsors and promoters of the village. The Galvez were an illustrious family from Cordoba, who settled in the village in the fifteenth century, but it was not until the eighteenth century when members magnified to the crown of Spain, giving five statesmen of great importance.
Josê de Gálvez (Marquis of Sonora) was the most important and recognized member. Its passage by the United States left large footprints as to promote the foundation of the cities of San Francisco (1766) and San Diego (1769), along with his apostolic work evangelizing the Indians or teaching our language and culture. His brother Matthias and son, were viceroys of Mexico and reached considerable prestige, although not as much as Josê de Gálvez.
