- Current use: Irrigation
- Main elements: Bridge-aqueduct over the Coladilla ravine

CURRENT CONDITION

The aqueduct was restored in 2012 and is in a perfect state of repair and operation. The sugar mill, on the other hand, is continuing to deteriorate while awaiting restoration.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The aqueduct was commissioned between 1879 and 1880 to provide the San Joaquín sugar factory—in the Las Mercedes district—with water. Alongside the factory in La Coladilla, a section of the Roman road that once was part of the Antonio de Cástulo-Malaca route can be found as remains of the factory-fort of Detunda, which would later become the present-day village of Maro.
