Church of San Sebastián

This XVII-century Baroque church, rebuilt after the Civil War, consists of a single nave. Inside, it is home to the image of Nuestra Señora del Campo, patron saint of Casares. This old statue, which was partially destroyed during the aforementioned hostilities, was carved from dark mahogany, the Virgin’s arms and the baby Jesus also being fashioned from the same piece of wood. It may have originally been discovered in the XI or XII century.
