Puente romano de la Molina (Roman Bridge of La Molina)

Puente Romano de la Molina

Puente romano de la Molina (Roman Bridge of La Molina)

It was built across the Turón River in the 2nd century CE, now exposing Ardales’ strategic location during the Roman period. The town was accessed through one of the Empire's roads between Iluro (Álora) and Arunda (Ronda).

Next to the Río Turón, as you go down from the Plaza de San Isidro along Calle de los Carros, there is a well-preserved Roman bridge known as “La Molina”. It is made of stone and has three arches. It is believed to have been built in the period of Augustus.
