Church of Encarnación
Built in the 16th century with an octagonal floor plan and with three naves and an adjoining tower. The chapel in the most outstanding feature on the inside as it is also octagonal in shape and it opens out into one side of the Gospel chapel which is preceeded by another chapel-like room which has a vaulted ceiling.
This church is located in the lower part of the village and it is the most important and oldest building in it. It was built on the site of the ancient Muslim mosque with a 28metre nave separated by pointed arches which rest on columns.
The chapel for the images of Jesús Nazareno at the foot of the Epistle nave was built during the 17th century. It, too, had an octagonal floor layout with rococo plasterwork as the main front which is made of brick and has a half-round arch that rests on columns. There is a crypt and a cemetary under the floor of the church which both date back to the originasl date of the building.
