Although there is little data about the origins of the parish church, it is known that it was constructed on the site of the ancient Arab mosque, which is quite apparent from a quick examination of its tower in the form of a Moorish minaret. This parish church is situated in the village square that has the same name as the village’s Patron Saint; Virgen de la Salud.
