Church of Santa Rosa de Lima

The church of Santa Rosa de Lima, a building which typifies the historical development of the village, was built on the site of the former mosque in the XVI century in homage to the saint of the same name and underwent a number of modifications during the 17th and 18th centuries. In fact, the only surviving element of the original church is its tower, formerly the minaret of the Arabic temple.

Inside, the highlight is a polychrome wooden image of San Antonio de Padua, a sculpture pertaining to the 17th century Granada school. Also on show are the Cristo Crucifijado and Niño Jesús, both of which date back to the 18th century. Other religious images include the 18th century San Gregorio Magno holding a three-armed white silver cross.
