The Nazari Town (Poblado Nazarí)

The Nazari town is a regional project that began in 2005 and had performed several schools workshop. It is located on La Fresnada,.a property of about 20 hectares that belongs to the municipality of Cortes de la Frontera, and have been assigned to the CEDER (Local Action Development Group) of Serrania de Ronda.

This village recreates the humble Nazari life in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. It as a historical reenactment where real people teach visitors the medieval work in the forge, housing, walls construction, ditches, livestock transport, agriculture, etc. The main buildings are completed and ready for immediate opening to the public, with a reception area (with space for souvenirs), an interpretation center and a projection room that takes the visitor to the Nazari period. Some of these initiatives are funded by the CEDER and others for the Development Plan to Promote Tourism in Serrania de Ronda.
This action is part of the Territorial Interpretation Plan of the Serrania de Ronda by which is intended to apply as a Cultural Park for a large area at the crossroads of contents related to both the "War of Independence" in the French period (with the Cannons Museum of Gaucîn) to the designs of home & workshop Nazari own village.
