Chestnut Museum

The purpose of this action is to value a unique product, the chestnut, through the provision and adequacy of a museum that is housed in a three story building located in the center of the municipality of Pujerra and that the municipality has fully rehabilitated with this end in 2009.

In Pujerra, a cooperative of chestnut generates wealth in the region and has enormous attraction-gourmet.

On the ground floor of the museum visitors will find the tourist information center which includes reception, shop and exhibition space dedicated to the chestnut and its history as well as the playground and toilets.

The other two floors recreates a home at the time. On the second floor is the kitchen (cuisine), lounge (daily life) and bedroom (dreams). And on the third floor there is an exhibition space (other tasks) and a loft which recreates a haystack.

The penthouse is for meeting room and warehouse. All the museum has interpretation.

The idea is based on a museum that exists in Ireland, Bunratty Theme Park, which recreates the atmosphere of the nineteenth century homes about furniture and customs. In this case, the museum of Pujerra try to recreate this idea equipping the house with ancient materials, furniture and decorative items, field gear, and bibliographical and historical information from the inhabitants. It aims to become a national museum in its style, as it is the first to use the concept of the chestnut as a idea to explain many other historical and cultural aspects of the municipality of Ronda highlands.
