Andalusian Government Delegates Office
PERIOD 18th and 19th century
DESCRIPTION
This beautiful building was constructed at the end of the 18th century and remodelled in the 19th. Its design shows a notable influence of the Neoclassic Italianated trend that first appeared in Malaga in the Customs building.
The similarity can be seen on the ground floor where there are Florentine cavity type decorations. It has running balconies, crowned with triangular and curved pediments. On the third floor there are single balconies and from the centre a polygon shaped tower rises up.
The highly decorated marble portal has a lintel and stands between beautiful boxed pilasters. Inside, on the other side of the lobby, there is a porticoed patio, 19th century on the whole, with Tuscan columns on footings, which support huge wooden beams and the brackets of the upper galleries, between stands a 19th century staircase.
