HOW TO FIND IT

The junction to the town of Alfarnate and its inn is on the A-341 road at km 514, between Málaga and Loja.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The inn boasts a small vaulted cistern facing the road annexed to a drinking trough that can be filled manually by a suction pump.

CURRENT CONDITION

The site continues to function as a hotel establishment and includes an exhibition on inns. It is considered to be the oldest active inn in Andalusia.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The current building housing the Alfarnate inn seems to date back to the 16th century. While sitting right next to the road, the cistern and drinking trough on its west facade receive water from the Morales and Alfarnate rivers, which flow into the area.
