Caves of La Araña Interpretation Centre
The centre provides an insight into Málaga Bay: its geomorphology, palaeoclimatic dynamics, and occupation over the years. It, therefore, covers a cultural cycle from the Early Palaeolithic to the Bronze Age. Also, the archaeological sites of La Araña can be visited.
The Humo Complex in La Araña
This complex is undergoing permanent works, as it contains excavation areas. However, it is fully open to the public by appointment only.
The visit to this park on Málaga’s Prehistory draws many educational field trips, and consists of two different phases:
First, a guided tour around the Interpretation Centre explains how our most remote ancestors lived by showing their tools and cultural elements.
Second, visitors move to the archaeological sites where they will get to know first-hand the original place where the Neanderthals and Homo Sapiens lived.
During the visit, and in accordance with the age of the audience, educational workshops are carried out for visitors to understand how our ancestors made their tools or painted the caves while experiencing a tailor-made paleoenvironmental landscape for an absolute prehistoric adventure.
