Castle Baluarte La Tahoma
The remains of a wall of the castle of Comares, whose exact date is unknown, and which was transformed into a huge fortress during the Moorish occupation. It was built on what is today Camposanto (Holy ground).
The castle, of Arab origin, was built in turn on an ancient Roman fortress, and it is popularly called "The Tahoma". From the top, visitors can see a wonderful overview of the village, which seems suspended in a rock, and the impressive massif of Sierra Tejeda to the north and the sea to the south. That is why Comares is call the Balcony of the Axarquia.
