Bullfight Museum of Antequera
The Municipal Bullfighting Museum is on the top floor of the Bullring of Antequera along with a restaurant called La Espuela. The museum can be visited through the restaurant entrance when the official entrance is closed.
The Local Authority acquired the Bullring in 1980 and began restoration and alteration work on it in 1984. The whole top floor behind the front row of seats and above the main entrance was dedicated to be museum space, which was inaugurated in 1986.
The bulk of the exhibition material was gathered by D. Josê Moreno Martînez, while the rest was either bought or donated to the Town Hall.
The collection, which is very well put together, introduces the visitor to the world of the Spanish Bullfight, but in particular, to the Andalucian bullfighting scene of the XIXth and XXth century.
