La Algaba

This centre houses the reproduction of a prehistoric Copper Age settlement made up of 16 fully-equipped huts with all kinds of tools and household items. It aims to recreate the habitat model that existed between the 3rd and 2nd millennia BCE.

As a result of the 20-year-long archaeological research, it has been possible to travel back in time by recreating a prehistoric settlement on the Algaba site using its model of a sedentary prehistoric society. This archaeological, experimental reproduction of a Neolithic settlement stretches over 4,000 square metres, enclosed by a 250-m stone wall. Its layout follows the orography of the terrain and includes 16 fully-equipped huts with all kinds of tools and household items, which are surrounded by the primaeval forest from which the inhabitants could obtain anything they needed.
