The viewpoint is placed behind the tourist centre, and it looks down on Fuente de Piedra Lagoon in the north, the sweeping scenery with breakwaves in the northwest, as well as on small Dulce Lagoon.

The view takes in some of the few marshlands that still exist in Spain and shelter numerous kinds of birds. This is also one of the rare areas where flamencos come to nest in massive flocks.
