Parajes de Arriate
Arriate looks across at the Serranîa from the slopes of the Guadalcobacîn, a tributary of the Guadiaro River, within the Ronda depression. Alongside the river that runs along the border of the municipal to the north and west there are many spots of great beauty where the vegetation from the river edges mixes with that of the riverbanks and forms kind of ’forests”. Then there are the extremely fertile land that reaches the entrance to the urban part of the village and as such adds to the landscape filled with olive grooves and fields full of cereals and crops. As well as all this, Arriate boasts a wonderful surrounding landscape, which, despite being physically out of the bounds of the municipal limits, acts as an impressive background picture with the locally situated mountain ranges like Las Cumbres (911 metres) and Salinas (954 metres), covered with Holm oaks; and the Dehesa de Parchite.
