This route starts in Villanueva de Algaidas and matches the long-distance Great Málaga Path (GR-249) and long-distance European Path 7, stage 4 (GR-7, E-4). You will exit the village by a cemetery way up and walk down a steep slope to the Bebedero Stream (which is also called Burriana Stream at its lower course) and go over Viejo [Old] Bridge, which was built to connect the village with the neighbourhood of La Atalaya [Watchtower]. You will see a Franciscan monastery’s ruins on the left before going over the stream, as well as some interesting Mozarabic chapels. After the stream, there is a short but rather steep path which leads to La Atalaya.
Go through the village to Algaidas Way, which is a dirt track, and walk north-east towards Loma Vieja Farmhouse (kilometric point 4.3) and Cruz Hill before turning north-east into wide fields covered in olive groves. Right away, you will reach Cerdon vantage point (kilometric point 6.1) and a hamlet of a same name (kilometric point 6.4).
Close to Moheda country house (kilometric point 7.1), turn west along Colada del Cerdón and you will soon get to the A-7300 road, for some 900 m (2952.76 ft), along which you need to be very careful. It leads to the end of the stage in Cuevas Bajas, Archidona Street, and to Peregrinos Hostel.
