Although one of the most spectacular remains belong to Roman times. It is related with the ruins of Acinipo, located at 15 kilometers from the center of Montecorto. Only part of the amphitheatre carved into the rock is preserved, but in the past, there was a temple and several public buildings. In the surrounding area, the remains have been found with respect to coins, inscriptions or capitals, by giving us an idea of the importance of this city in Roman times.
From the Arab period, dates the Castillo del Moral and Torre de Audita (Tower of Audita), although little remains of these buildings because they were destroyed by the Catholic Monarchs in their conquest of Ronda. To observe the Castle, we recommend you doing it from the viewpoint of the famous Moorish border, located at kilometre 20 of the highway A-2300. In addition to the Castle, from this place, you will have wonderful views of the Sierra de Ronda, with its lush landscape of pines.
Montecorto environment is full of water, and this is the reason why in 2006 the Fountain of Dolmen rose.
