Restaurante del Hotel Humaina (Distinguished Establishments)
This is an eco-friendly traditional hotel, based on the new trends in rural areas’ lodging industry which looks after the environment. For example, the water that the hotel is supplied with comes from the nearest mountain, and it is taken to the hotel by the system of cisterns where the water is chlorinated.
The restaurant’s menu contains a great range of dishes based on traditional cooking and local products. We underline some of them like ‘morrete’ of field mushrooms (a kind of scrambled eggs with mushrooms), fried heart of lettuce with anchovies, Ajoblanco (cold garlic soup) from Málaga, cream of courgette soup, ratatouille with potatoes and eggs, Humaina style eggs, bull’s tail stew, roast ham with the wine from the Málaga Mountains and lamb or young goat’s chops. As for deserts, try home-made rice pudding, traditional porridge, red wine poached pears and traditional chocolate truffle ice cream.
This charming hotel, perfect for those who go hiking or like walking, forms part of the Málaga Mountains Nature Park. It is 18 kilometres away from Malagueta Beach and some 25 kilometres away from Málaga Airport.
