The first awards for Turistic Quality Caminito del Rey have been given to 17 business and organizations

The County Council promotes these awards with the cooperation of the Town Halls of: Alora, Antequera, Ardales, Campillos, Carratraca and Valle Abdajalis.

Seventeen organizations from Antequera, Ardales and Carratraca have been the first to receive today The Quality awards from Turistic Quality Caminito del rey. The awards are given to business and organizations which achieved quality standards by offering the best attention and service to their customers.

The council member in charge of environment and territory promotion, Marina Bravo; The Mayor from Antequera, Manuel Baron; The Mayor from Ardales, María del Mar Gonzalez, and the Mayor from Carratraca, Francisca Jimenez, have been in charge of delivering a certificate and a nameplate.

Marina Bravo, talked about the importance that Malaga has as a first touristic destination thanks to Caminito del Rey, which has been put together in the Quality system in touristic destinations (SICTED), developed by the Secretary of State of Turism The Spanish Federation of Towns and Provinces to where 150 Spanish destinations belong to.

The first business and organizations that have received the awards are: The Visit Center Torcal Alto (Antequera), The Antequera City Museum, The Turistic office from Antequera, The Plaza de Toros Antequera Restaurant, The Art Council Museum from Antequera (MAD), Ardales Apartments, Posada de Conde Hotel, Posada de Conde restaurant, El Mirador Restaurant, La Bochaca (Carratraca), Maria´s Rural home (Carratraca) and El Parador Apartment (Carratraca).

Its all about a new initiative promoted by The Council of Malaga with help of the local government of Alora, Antequera, Ardales, Campillos, Carratraca, and Valle de Abdajalis, as well with the General Management of quality and Turistic Innovation from The Regional Government of Andalusia. Moreover, the Turism and Planning business from Costa del Sol provide suitable technique equipment for work developments.

Bussines that have been named as a quality system:

At the moment, Caminito del Rey has close to 60 business that work together to improve the services they offer. Over the past year The Council has offered them free technical service.

The effort these business make is recognized, as they have worked during 2018 to improve their activities, from establishing a strategic plan for a business to developing a mechanism to gain information for the rating of the clients, changing work methods, launching environmental practices and the improvement of equipment  and installations.

Everything has a main target which is to achieve the client expectations and to make El Caminito del Rey a unique visit for them.
