This festival has been declared to be of Tourist Interest by the Provincial Council of Málaga.

Rincón de la Victoria is a municipality in the Axarquía region. On the second Sunday of September, it holds the Day of the Anchovy (Día del Boquerón Victoriano) as a closing event of the summer tourist season, and as a tribute to its cuisine’s main ingredient.

A three-day tasting of local anchovies and other traditional dishes can be enjoyed on the seafront promenade. Meanwhile, the municipality's Panda de Verdiales groups will be singing and dancing to this folk music.

At the same time, young chefs specialised in Málaga gastronomy will participate in a culinary competition with the local anchovy as the star ingredient.
