While tourist flows already reach every part of the mountain range, the feeling of a new discovery overwhelms visitors in Pujerra. This may be because the land still preserves the unspoilt patina that can only be observed in villages that have known how to venture into the present with full respect for the natural environment.

Pujerra is a small municipality in the southwest of the Ronda region, on the border with the Western Costa del Sol. Chestnut and pine forests extend up to the Genal Valley, across a lush green landscape that brings its own singularity to this already unique area of the province of Málaga.

This is a white village with narrow streets - a part of the province that is nestled in a magnificent natural setting and protected by dense chestnut woods. Upon the arrival of autumn, these woods create a spectacular sight. This is when the traditional chestnut harvest takes place, which is considered to be a product that is symbolic of Pujerra, as well as an essential element in its economy.

The Chestnut Festival is held at the beginning of November, once the harvesting work has been completed, and coinciding with the day of the municipality's patron saint, the Virgen de Fátima. Residents prepare the traditional tostones with mistela liqueur during the event, while paying tribute to chestnut as a culinary icon of Málaga cuisine.

All visitors will be able to taste a variety of food samples made with this fruit.
