This festival has been declared to be of Tourist Interest by the Provincial Council of Málaga.

Almogía, in the region of Guadalhorce, celebrates the Day of the Almond every last Sunday of September. The event aims to promote all the traditions related to the cultivation and processing of almonds.

The activity programme includes an exhibition of products elaborated by town companies, as well as food tastings of chanfaina, cheese, almonds, desserts, and local wines.

Verdiales music round off the day along with workshops and re-enactments of traditional craft-making, such as saddlery, straw-braiding, and the different phases in almond harvesting.
