The remains of the old fortress that once enclosed the town are now one of the main attractions in Mijas Pueblo. The gardens that surround them were designed to enable the visitor to enjoy their flora throughout the year via a route that takes in a variety of plant species which is complemented by the presence of a viewpoint overlooking the sea, Fuengirola and Benalmádena.
