Forest Guard Natural Viewpoint
This natural viewpoint over the Turón basin, named 'the Forest Ranger', is at an altitude of 900m above the sea level, and its privileged position on the northern border of the Sierra de las Nieves Nature Park provides spectacular panoramic view. From this hillock, you can observe the top end of the Turón basin, tributary of the Guadalhorce, and its leafy slopes covered in diverse greenery and Spanish fir, Aleppo pine, maritime pine, oak and Spanish juniper grove.
On the top of the hill, there is a statue which was placed there in 1977 to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the forest rangers unit. The viewpoint looks down on the white and mountainous town of El Burgo, and offers marvellous sweeping view of the cliff in Lifa Valley, the snowy tops of the Pilones and the Cabrillas Mountains, the ruins of the convent of Our Lady de las Nieves, and the Fuensanta Flour Mill.
