Between Baños del Carmen and La Malagueta, this beach lies to the east of the city, and is bordered by the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Promenade.

This is one of the many beaches that have been regenerated along the Malaga coast over the years. Covered in dark sand, it is 1,000 metres long and approximately 25 metres wide and usually has a moderate tidal swell. This beach has been awarded the Blue Flag 2021.

La Caleta in Malaga is one of the most popular beaches thanks to its proximity to the old quarter of the city, and it takes its name from the district in which it is located. The palm trees and grass offer a natural shady area inviting you to escape the heat.

In the hot season it is possible to rent sun loungers and sun shades, and nautical sports equipment such as pedal boats.

La Caleta district is an affluent suburb chosen as a residential district by the haute bourgeoisie at the end of the 19th century, to build their luxury villas and mansions, which can still be seen today.
