Parajes de Cartajima

The landscape of Cartajima provides a sharp contrast between the white limestone of the Sierra del Oreganal to the north and the mountains crowned with chestnut trees, cork oaks and holm oaks that lie to the south. Both the position of the village itself and the route taken by the road which runs along the side of the Sierra del Oreganal offer breathtaking views of the mountains and, in particular, the Genal Valley. Other locations which merit a visit include the caves of Carrión, Charcón Bajo, La Miguela, Ronda and Umbrîa. Of similar scenic beauty are Los Riscos, La Canaîlla del Lobo and Cepo, and the potholes of La Hurta and Veleño.
