Closure of the Cuevas de San Marcos via ferrata due to nesting

The Cuevas de San Marcos Iron Way (via ferrata) will be closed until the end of June 2024 due to the Bonelli's eagle and Peregrine falcon nesting by order of the Environment Delegation of the Junta de Andalucía.

This via ferrata is perfect for beginners in this type of mountaineering, since its difficulty is medium-low. It is characterized by the beauty of the landscapes and its verticality, without requiring great physical conditions from the fans. For the same reason it is ideal to enjoy with the family and suitable for all types of audiences. Its beginning is very close to the old quarry, the most easily recognizable element in the place for people who come to the area for the first time; the auction is located, for its part, at the top of the mountain range.

This new via ferrata is located in the Natural Monument of the Falla del Camorro, a privileged space from which we can contemplate impressive landscapes: the views range from the Genil River to Sierra Nevada, passing through the Sierras Subbéticas, the Torcal de Antequera or the Fuente Piedra Lagoon.
