
Long-distance Mozarabic Way of St James (GR 245). Stage 06: Cuevas Bajas - Encinas Reales

- End of the Stage:
On the provincial border between Málaga and Córdoba, which in the case of this trail coincides with the course of the Genil River.
The beginning of this stage of the path is at the sport centre in Cuevas Bajas, where an asphalt road called Colada del Río starts. At first, the route goes along the long-distance European Path 7 - Stage 4 (GR-7, E-4). Some 900 metres (3.28 ft) away from the beginning, turn northwards in the direction of the Genil River’s course and leave the above path which goes to Cuevas de San Marcos.
Long-distance Mozarabic Way of St JamesGo across the bridge over the Genil River (kilometric point 1.3) right after you have gone past Cura Gallardo country house and have exited the Province of Málaga in order to enter Córdoba. The Genil River has its source in the Sierra Nevada Nature Reserve and flows into the Guadalquivir River (Province of Córdoba).
Continue walking along an asphalt road (Cordel de los Espartales) northwards and through olive groves so that you can reach Encinas Reales, a village that belongs to the county or province of Córdoba.
This kind of landscape will follow you until the end of the route at Peregrinos Hostel.
