After it had been used for promoting the 3D version of 'The Smurfs' film, Júzcar was declared the first 'Smurfs Village' by Sony Pictures, a multinational motion picture production company. Today it is not anymore. Now it is called the Blue Village.
Besides this and the fact that it is completely painted in blue, it is interesting to say that several hiking routes start and finish in it.
One of them is the circle route Júzcar - Pujerra - Cartajima, which goes through many beautiful landscapes and places of cultural importance, and contains plenty of holm and cork oaks, wild olive trees and olive groves.
The route is 16 km long, with low-medium difficulty, and goes along lanes, roads and paths.
