The sixth stage of the entire route starts in the area of the Sierra de las Nieves and goes deep into the Serranîa de Ronda.  It lies between Campo de Gibraltar (Gibraltar’s Area), Western Costa del Sol, the Málaga Plain, the Depression of Antequera, and the Sierra de Unrique (the Ubrique Mountains). The area of the Serranîa de Ronda comprises more than just mountains. There is a plateau in the town, villages in the Genal Valley, and a natural passage in the Guadiaro Valley. Moreover, the area serves as an access to the plains of Málaga across the Turón and Guadalteba Valleys.

According to plan, the stay in this area is two days long, during the sixth and the seventh stage of the route. The first one starts in Casarabonela and ends in Ronda. This route goes through seven municipalities for 154 km, and along many curvy roads in the mountain. Due to its diversity and natural wealth, many of its parts have been protected. The most important nature parks are the Sierra de Grazalema, the Sierra de las Nieves and Cork Oaks Woods. They treasure natural beauties, such as the Spanish fir, the golden eagle and the griffon vulture. This is also a perfect place for activities in the countryside, such as tracking, climbing, speleology, or simple enjoying and observing nature. Ronda’s natural heritage is a genuine treasure that welcomes tourists.

This route is divided in three parts in order to assure an enjoyable ride through the beautiful countryside and the towns and villages on the way.

First part:
Casarabonela – Alozaina - Yunquera - El Burgo - Ronda (Ronda’s Road / Algodonales)

Second part:
Ronda - Acinipo - Montejaque - Benaoján – Ronda

Third part: 
Ronda - Benaoján – Ronda’s Road / Algodonales.

This project was developed in cooperation with Iberian Coast Route Ltd under the name of ‘Málaga Countryside Rider Tour’.

The beginning of the route consists of 9 stages, which go through all the towns and villages in the Province of Málaga. It is 1, 700 km long and covers more than 70 municipalities. Depending on the progress of the project, it is more than probable that there will be open another part which will go through many other municipalities. The route can be ridden in parts, each stage separately, or the entire at once for a period of 9 days. In the latter case, the way goes from the Mountains of Málaga to Málaga City. It is not necessary to visit the recommended hotels or restaurants and try their dishes if you do not wish so. You can go along the route on your own or follow the ‘guided tour’ with previous booking of hotels, restaurants or activities.
