This old hunting area that belonged to the Marquesses of Larios is the source of many stories.

The building still has the same architectural design that includes old tiles, stone and brick walls, and big windows.

Its gastronomy owns a special attention. The restaurant - Refugio de Juanar (The Shelter of Juanar) proudly serves tasty dishes inspired by the landscape that surrounds it. Game meat is its speciality: partridge in escabeche (pickling liquid made of oil and vinegar), rabbit, venison, pheasant, or quail a la cazadora (with hunter´s sauce), and wild goat during hunting season. We also recommend some typical Spanish dishes such as roast kid, lamb, Serranillo style suckling pig, el pucherete (a kind of stew), goose liver, etc.

LOCATION

This restaurant is placed in Sierra Blanca, between Ojên and Monda. The access way, which is 5 km long, goes through the forest and mountains and ends at a beautiful natural spot. Thanks to the perfect location of the hotel in the Sierra de las Nieves and its closeness to The Costa del Sol, the hotel offers six perfect defined hiking trails.
