Stupa of Kalachakra, Vélez-Málaga (Unique Site)
Recommended month to visit it: February.
The stupa [Buddhist monument] symbolises the body, the speech and the mind of Buddha and of all the enlightened beings, as well as universal peace, and contributes to the unification of all the peoples.
The municipality of Vélez-Málaga counts with a stupa, built according to profoundly symbolic criteria: the base symbolises the earth, the hemispherical dome describes the celestial part, the terrace symbolises de abode of the gods and the crescent is the union of the sky and the earth. Finally, the chakrás or disks that crown the mast and which, at the same time they gain hight, they lose area, represent the successive heavens.
In the district of El Trapiche, and among a group of small houses called Aldea Alta that form the Karma Guen Buddhist Centre, there you can marvel at the stupa.
