CURRENT CONDITION
It is in a perfect state of conservation and seamlessly integrated into the urban space. Interestingly, the coat-of-arms on the right is that of Felipe II (1556-1598). If we add to this the Classical style of its pillar, front and decorative features (garlands, spouts, among others), then the overall effect is more 16th century than 18th, closer to the Renaissance style than to Neoclassicism.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The fountain was long known as the Fountain of Fernando VI as it features a memorial tablet alluding to both the reign of Fernando VI and the year 1758 as the time when the fountain was moved from its original location. It originally stood in Plaza de la Constitución before being moved in that year.
