Municipal washing place and Tourist Information Office
It is one of the last washing public places that retain the original structure. For this reason, the Competitiveness Tourism Plan of the Sierra Norte de Málaga has funded the establishment of a Tourist Information Point and an Interpretation Centre of the oral traditions in the area called El Lavadero (Washing place).
This building, besides being tourist information office, should be a centre to disseminate the intangible heritage of this town, consisting of a rich oral tradition, such as “trovos” (popular songs as poetry), proverbs, and traditional festivals, highlighting livestock markets presented through photographs, videos, and information panels.
As the building is done over a traditional washing place, the floor and the original sinks can be seen through a glass backlight.
