Roman road and the Bridge over the Arroyo Teja

Roman road and the Bridge over the Arroyo Teja

Remains of the Roman highway between Monda and Cártama. There are three very easily distinguishable parts; the first, and the closest to the village preserved the original layout of the Roman highway, the second part, which is in very good condition, (the repairs made to it during the medieval period can be seen); and lastly the steepest. It still even has small steps that used to be used to raise the carts up onto the highway. There are also some remains of a single-arch Roman bridge next to the highway.
