Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation
The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación dates back to the 15th century.
This Mudêjar-style building has just one simple nave and three image-dressing rooms behind the chevet. The ceiling consists of a wooden structure with crosspieces. The Christian church was built on the site of the former mosque, of which only the minaret, a 14th century jewel of Almohade architecture remains. This 3.64-metre-square structure stands 15 metres high and features a central pillar measuring over 1.07 metres around which the staircase, covered by a half-barrel vault, is laid out.
