Hermitage of Virgen del Puente
Also known as the Ermita del Puente (Hermitage of the Bridge), it stands between Plaza del Prado and the bridge over the River Guadalhorce.
A village sacristan on his way to Madrid saw and bought a small image of the Virgen de los Dolores similar to the one kept in the church, and this is now displayed in the hermitage built for the purpose. Later, it had to be removed during a particularly violent storm, to avoid it being washed away by the river. During the Civil War, the image was in danger of being burnt and remained hidden for the next 28 years.
