San Isidro’s Hermitage
Built in 1992 true to Andalusian style with a central niche where the image of San Isidro Labrador, the Patron Saint of the agricultural workers, is placed during the days of the “romeria”. It is situated on the banks of the Rîo Grande.
During the first days of the second half of May Guaro celebrates the traditional pilgrimage of San Isidro (the saint of farmers) to his hermitage in Rio Grande. Nowadays, traditional farming is in clear decline, but there are still farmers, and especially neighbours and outsiders, wanting to celebrate the pilgrimage.
