Church of Our Lady of El Socorro
The church of Nuestra Señora del Socorro is the village’s most important monument. Built in the first half of the 16th century, it underwent a major overhaul in the mid 18th century.
Inside, it consists of three large naves separated by pillars and Roman arches, the left-hand nave featuring an image chamber housing the statue of the Virgen del Carmen which is well worth a visit in order to admire its magnificent Baroque decoration, while its right-hand counterpart is home to a similar chamber in which the image of Jesús Nazareno is displayed. Outside, the large, five-section quadrangular tower covered with Arabic tiling is visible from any point in the village.
