Monastery of the Santísimo Sacramento
Cañete’s religious architecture comprises two buildings, the 17th century Convento de San Francisco which had a small cloister adjoining the church, and the Monasterio del Santîsimo Sacramento de las Monjas Carmelitas, which dates back to the 18th century. Its church consists of a single nave covered by a half-barrel vault, while outside, on the Gospel side, the highlight is provided by the cylindrical buttresses. The main faèade features Tuscan pilasters on either side of the entrance and a split gable which displays the Carmelite coat of arms.
