Built in the 17th and 18th centuries, the central nave features polychromatic Mudêjar panelling, while the small, Baroque-style image dressing room behind the main altarpiece contains an image of the Virgen de la Paz Coronada.

A building dating back to the first quarter of the 17th century in which the nuns of the Dominican order set up their convent thanks to a donation by Inês Fernández de Córdoba.

The exterior of the Iglesia de Santo Domingo is simplicity itself, with the exception of the main faèade, which, along with the ceiling structure of the central nave and the panelling in the lower choir, is the only surviving element of the original construction. The faèade in question, which is Mannerist in style, features cushion pilasters and a second section on which a stone image of the Inmaculada, after whom the church is named, stands.

Its interior is the result of a series of transformations and additions. The Mudêjar ceiling structure of the central nave is unusual in that it features and attractive combination of white, blue and red.

The main chapel, which is covered by a half-orange vault, houses an 18th century altarpiece whose main structural and decorative element is its pyramidal pedestal. The image dressing room behind it, which was rebuilt in 1980, contains an image of the Virgen de la Paz, an exquisite Dolorosa fashioned by the Antequera craftsman Miguel Márquez Garcîa in 1815. Still paraded on Good Friday, it is much revered by the people of Antequera.

The Main Chapel houses two enormous Neoclassical altarpieces which feature an image of El Ñiño Perdido and a 16th century image of Jesús Nazareno, after whom the religious society known as the Pontificia y Real Archicofradia del Dulce nombre de Jesús y Nuestra Señora de la Paz is named.

Special mention must be made of the chapel dedicated to Nuestra Señora del Rosario, a much-revered image in Antequera between the 17th and 19th centuries, which boasts a fine collection of artwork.

In the pictorial department, worthy of note among the many works to found here are La Epidemia, La Alegorîa de los Sentidos, and La Transformación de Santa Teresa.

The highlight of the processional items on display is the pallium of the Virgen de la Paz, whose magnificent pedestal was carved in 1682.
