This church was built in the 17th century. On the 23rd of April 1732, the Bishop of Málaga, Don Diego González de Toro, signed authorisation for this parish to be created in Alcaucîn under the name of Nuestra Señora del Rosario.

It consists of two naves on three half-point arches. Its defining characteristic is its great simplicity, within the constraints of its baroque style, its highlight being the rococo plasterwork of the small room behind the altar.
