Avda Sor Teresa Prat 17
Zip Code 29003
Monuments and Art > Remarkable Building

PERIOD 20th century

DESCRIPTION

The Tobacco Factory was built in the 1930s in the district of Huelin, following the project of Industrial Engineers, Juan Francisco Delgado and Carlos Dendariena, and the Civil Engineer, Fernando Guerra.

The ensemble is organised around three open patios, each of them with a specific function: sales, fermentation and manufacture. The main patio is accessed through a beautiful wrought iron gate, on the other side of which, to the left and right, there are two buildings of regional Sevillian architecture and which were the Managers house and offices.

On the walls one can admire the blue and green glazed ceramic tiling of the friezes, set on a white background, whilst the quoins and divisions between spans are of exposed brick. The terraced roofs are topped by pyramids resting on balls, a design inspired by the typical architecture of Seville.
