Bank of Spain
PERIOD 20th century
DESCRIPTION
A Neoclassic building, designed by the architect Josê Yarnoz between 1933-1936.
The Greco-Roman temple model it represents was not faithfully reproduced in order to provide more sense of stability.
The columned portico, which presides over the main faèade that looks out over the Park, constitutes the building's main historical link. It remits to the concept of the grand public building, both ancient and contemporary.
The building comprises three floors with an impressive Corinthian hexastyle portico, very much in harmony with the symbolic and stable image of a banking entity.
