Other Cultural Heritage Sites > > Quarry
These chromium-nickel mines are part of a mining district that was in operation from 1840 to the mid-20th century. Their activity established Málaga as a leader in the European production of these ores during the decades preceding the Spanish Civil War.
Origin: High-temperature sulphide liquids related to late magmatic segregations and injections in fractured marginal areas of the Carratraca massif, as well as acidic dikes.
