Old Bridge
The earliest historic record of this 15th century structure is a reference to its reconstruction following the reconquest of Ronda by the Catholic Monarchs, though its origins are the subject of debate. Some believe it to have been built by the Romans and rebuilt by the Arabs, though the majority contend that it was originally the work of the Muslims. It stands on a conglomeration of rocks on the river bed and consists of a single arch 31 m. high and 10 m. in diameter. It provided access to the town via the old Puerta de la Puente gate and linked it with the market district of Mercadillo.
