Hell's Pool (Charco del Infierno), Almogía (Unique Site)

Recommended month to visit it: May.

Almogía, with its narrow streets and its houses hanging from the hills, is found in the North of the province of Málaga. Its uneven lands, populated by olives, almonds and pines, situated it as an important strategic military enclave. If we follow the linear route that takes us from the town to the end of the reservoir of Casasola, we will enjoy spectacular landscapes through the different gorges and the course of the Campanillas river. We will have the chance of crossing the Bridge of las Palomas, built in Roman times. In short, a fascinating tour for the observer of plants and animals.

On the other side of the river we can see an old grape dryer for the production of raisins. A little further on, our destination finally appears, the so-called Hell's Pool, a rocky formation that retains floodwaters in deep pools. It is an ideal spot for observing birds, as well as turtles sticking their heads out of the water.
